Madhubani or Mithila art is practiced in the Mithila area of India & Nepal. Madhubani Painting is finished with palms, twigs, brushes, nib-pens, and matchsticks, the use of natural dyes and pigments &  characterised by means of desirable geometrical styles & designs. For exceptional events there may be ritual content like  delivery, marriage & diferent festivals like Holi, Kali Puja, Upanayana & Durga Puja.

Styles of Madhubani Painting:

There are 5 styles of Madhubani art or Painting i.E. 

1.Bharni  

2.Katchni, 

3.Tantrik, 

4.Godna & 

5.Kohbar. 

In early 1960s Bharni, Kachni and Tantrik style were mainly done through Brahman & Kayashth women, they belongs to higher caste girls in India & Nepal. Mainly Their issues was religious & depicted Gods and Goddesses, plant life and fauna in their art work. Lower castes human beings includes  their day by day existence and logos also includes story of Raja Shailesh and much more, of their artwork. But now a days Madhubani art is widely recognized  & is globalised art form. Now there is no distinction in the paintings of artists of the place &  on the premise of caste device . They are working in all five styles. Madhubani art obtained global and countrywide popularity & are displayed in lots of exhibition.
